On the Level

26 people who are active in sending and hosting EVS volunteers in 14 European states took part in a very successful seminar in Cardiff Bay, 12-15 February entitled "On the Level - Disabled Access Through EVS".

The event was hosted by the UK’s National Agency for EVS, with significant travel cost support from a number of other National Agencies. It was facilitated by ICP Partneriaeth, an experienced EVS co-ordinator, and the team of trainers and speakers drew on specialist expertise from within the disability sector in Wales. The event also promoted networking among the organisations represented at the seminar, sharing their considerable knowledge and experience too. We examined issues affecting the accessibility of EVS for volunteers with all kinds of disability, including:

(1) physical mobility problems (2) sensory impairment (3) learning disabilities and (4) mental health problems.
